Professor John Wilson created this still water pattern around 1850's and it has proved it's worth in the fly boxes of fly fishermen ever since. It has excellent results not only on still waters but also on flowing waters. The larger sizes are good lures for sea trout.

Fishing Tips

It is reputed that Prof John Wilson was out fishing and ran short of flies so he fastened petals of a buttercup and leaves to his hook. It was so successful that he created a fly with yellow silk, thus The Professor was created out of necessity.
